Racing (WBR), are proud to announce that American speedway star the Missouri Missile, Bert Cheatham, is set to do battle with our best super sedan drivers at Blue Ribbon Raceway this Saturday night, January 18th 2003, for the Head’s Caps Southern National Series round # 3.
Fresh from winning his fourth track championship at Tri-City Speedway, Illinois Bert is pumped and ready to roll in the WBR Kennard’s Hire/Tri Neon Signs Iroc Camaro. Cheatham is no stranger to Australia having raced with the best down in Tasmania last season in the WBR Camaro and prior to this, three times with the USA Test Team.
The Victorian Super Sedans are looking forward to making a comeback at Blue Ribbon Raceway after a number of year’s absence. Cheatham will try to keep current Australian Champion, Mick Nicola, current Victorian Champion, Peter Logue and Victoria’s newest sensation, Darren Hickman, amongst others, honest this Saturday night.
Cheatham comes to Australia with 31 years racing experience in speedway. Cheatham enjoyed his trip down under so much last year that this time he is bringing his wife, Stacia and three children.
Due to the diligent effort of Di Bell (Blue Ribbon Raceway) and Shane Burge (VSSA), this will be Bert’s only Victorian appearance prior to racing in Tasmania. When asked for a comment, Bert stated that he was looking forward to coming down under and thrilled to be part of the action at Blue Ribbon Raceway.
